Start
Hey, {PLAYER_NAME}! Why are you chugging down my good whiskey!? What problem are you trying to drown? Your past? It might be able to get rid of your memories, but you won't be happy this way! If you need a distraction, you should go and scare off the birds at the farmer's fields nearby. Those flying rats are destroying this year's harvest.
Finish
What did you find there? That looks like a military medal. And it has your name on it! I don't know anything about the honors of the confederates though.

I have heard from Jack that you did a great job. He's never seen anyone so agile when driving the cattle. He said that you can only learn such tactical maneuvers in the military, or in the war.If you need more things to do, then wait right here. William should be back any minute. {PLAYER_NAME}? Sergeant {PLAYER_NAME}! It is so nice to see you again! It has been such a long time since we've seen each other. We fought side by side in the civil war. We fought a lot of winning battles together... Until that dark day, when the Chocreek tribe, who were fighting for the Union, ambushed us. Many died, Lieutenant Chivington was badly wounded, and I lost my arm. That is the reason why I need your help now. I just can't use the scythe anymore. Could you please help me?
Finish
Thank you. The harvest is hard work with just one arm. But I am happy to still have my life. Jonathan, Brel, Lucas and George were less lucky. You really don't remember them? Colonel Chivington? Lieutenant Breagon? How could you forget all those men?

Ah, {PLAYER_NAME}. Sit down with us. John and I were talking about our military time. They took me to the military hospital after the Chocreek ambushed us. The unhurt kept fighting. Since Chivington got wounded so badly, it must have been Lieutenant Breagon as highest ranked officer left, that took over. He took revenge on the Chocreek, it turned into a real massacre. They killed everyone, women and children, simply everyone. You have been there, right? How could you let that happen? They were children! Yes, the Chocreek attacked us and we lost many of our comrades but that is no reason for revenge like that! You should have deserted after Lieutenant Breagon gave the order! You should not have taken part in this! Go and talk to Waupee's grandfather about this. Waupee's grandfather is still in the Indian camp in the South East.
Finish
You have now seen Waupee's grandfather and ready to face your past. There is no turning back now.

He might also be at his mistress or, when he needs to relax, he watches the ships that come from the old world. I'll join you if you can find him. Thomas is at one of the four locations. Slingshots and ponies can be bought in a town's shops, a pony in the General Store and a slingshot at the Gunsmith. Remember that every town has a different assortment of goods. If you don't find what you are looking for, simply check the stores in another town. One more thing: Items cost a lot less in your own town.

Breagon wanted to stand in the first line and die honorably. You suggested to Chivington to lure them into this field, then to ignite it and this is how we won the battle. Everyone celebrated, all but Breagon because he was jealous. Let's pick some corn as provisions for the journey. Our next destination is the area where the Chocreek have been living. Today this is Irkatchi territory. Irkatchen lives in the same Indian village as Waupee's grandparents. It is on the other side of the prairie, far to the South East.
Finish
William: I am losing my appetite a bit considering that the corn has grown on the dead bodies of our former enemies. We better throw it away.

But during the war, the confederates built a dam and redirected it. We would love to have the river back in this area, but the land belongs to a paleface. Couldn't you convince him? He wants 600 dollars.
Finish
Chief of the Irkatchi: Thank you, we have our river back! The land will slowly recover from years of drought. During the civil war this field was a battle ground. A confederate unit attacked a friendly Indian tribe, the Chocreek. Hate and Anger led the attackers. They fought without honor, ravished the dead and killed even the women. Only few of our brothers and sisters survived. Our hearts still cry! I am happy that there are still honorable palefaces! Farewell stranger. Lets hope for better times.William: Here, I found this hat. Maybe one of our men lost it here? Our journey is over for now. Maybe someone from the press knows something about him. They are printing the papers close to here. We should start there. She is a good tailor and I am sure she can fix that burned uniform of yours. Chivington's farm is located East of the fort.
Finish
Pastor Brahms: What is bothering you? You are a friend of Jack Chivington and you are looking for him. Why don't you sit down...I have to disappoint you though. Jack died. You were right there during the ambush of the Chocreek, so I don't have to tell you about that. They took him to the best military hospital, near Richmond. I rode there right away. He got hit by three bullets and was badly wounded, but a fighter like him can pull through this. Four days later I got a letter that his unit made a real massacre. He never spoke a word again after that day. He shivered, didn't sleep anymore and started having delusions. Five weeks later the Lord was kind enough to put him out of his misery. His widow and children have still not gotten over this. I can give you their address if you want to talk to them. God bless you.Finish hint:Chivington's farm is East of the fort, not too far away.

They will kill you.I will capitulate. You can take me, and you all leave. Then you let me go and we try to solve the issue with the Chief of the Irkatchi. There are two solutions. You can accept your guilt, or you can kill Breagon.

Chief of the Irkatchi: Hugh {PLAYER_NAME}! Who is the stranger?Breagon: I am Breagon. Wait, don't just waive your Tomahawk. I am here to ask for forgiveness for the crimes of my friends. I should have stopped them. As commander I carry the whole guilt. {PLAYER_NAME} was one of my men as well.{PLAYER_NAME}: It is true! Please accept my apology.Breagon: How can we make up for what we have done, honorable Chief of the Irkatchi?Chief of the Irkatchi: I can only speak for the Irkatchi. The Chocreek don't exist anymore. The last survivor joined our tribe. The Indians that attacked you were younglings from other tribes. They want the death of the white man. We do not support them. I don't know how you can ever pay back for what you did though. You have already supplied our land with water. Maybe we three should just sit down at the river for a few hours, fish and smoke the calumet.
