You enter the Saloon, which seems quite empty. At one of the tables sits a girl with an old red shoebox on her lap and a glass of water. You walk over to Henry, who is already waving at you from a distance.Hello, my friend! I have an extra special thing for you today. Well, this little girl over there is here with her even younger brother. Yes, her brother went to the bathroom, I told him to wash his face. They haven't seen clean sheets or warm food in over a week, or so. It is said they are looking for their father, who has not come home for many months. Why don't you talk to them? Maybe you can find something out? And I will prepare some warm food for them... eh, you’d probably like something to eat too, don't you?

This is where they live now apparently, since they don't have money to pay the rent. I will in the meantime speak with the locals about the mines, maybe they’ve heard something. Do you remember what their father's name was? I think it is D... D... Oh no, name is Mathew. Don't forget to take provisions with you!

On the way to the Ghost Town, you have to stop due to a big storm. Snow and strong winds make it hard to see anything and you can hear the howling of hungry wolves not that far away. You spend the night on an abandoned farm you stumbled onto and hope to continue your journey in the morning.

Arriving at the Ghost Town, you notice that snow is covering almost all buildings. Who would like to live here? The girl said they lived in a building next to the old saloon. The doorway is blocked by heavy snow. You need a shovel or a spade!Doctor: I'm not going to ask you how you managed to find this spade. Sometimes it's better not to know. Let's remove the snow from the door. When you enter the room, you notice that there is a lot of hay on the floor and by the windows. And you soon see a woman, covered with hay, shivering because of the cold.Doctor: Bring blankets and some clothes. Hurry up! And bring some water, too. You enter the mine with a lantern which you had fortunately bought before leaving your town. There is nobody in the mine, it seems empty. You keep walking carefully... After a few long minutes of going deeper into the mine, you hear a hoarse and quiet voice:Help! Heeeey... here... help... please...You notice a man half-buried under stones. You give him your water and go in search of tools to free him from the pile of stones.

After many hours of work, you manage to get the man out from under the granite stones.

Man: Thank you, thank you so much... but my brother... please help me find him. We had worked here together. I think we were buried like 3 days ago... if I counted the days right... It's dark in here... hard to say. He had gone in deeper... Tell me he's alive, please! He has a wife and two little children...The man begins to cough and choke. You try to calm him down and tell him you'll be taking him back to town and get more help. He asks you to leave a lantern in the tunnel, in case his brother is alive and might see the light. On the way home, you are attacked by bandits again! The harsh weather makes the bandits more daring, maybe more desperate. Everyone wants to have a nice Christmas, right? Can we not change the way of it all? Can we not make the world a better place? Is there hope at all? Is the father of the kids still alive? You get depressed. So many questions, so few answers.

On your way back, you hear that the man you saved and his brother decided to earn some extra money in the old mine. It did not end well for them, as the beams that shored up the western wall collapsed. As soon as you arrive in town, the man passes out. The doctor really has her hands full this Christmas, but you hope that everything will be fine in the end.

While the rescue team is looking for the man in the mine, you help Henry in the saloon. The blizzard got so strong that everyone in the city is taking refuge in the doctor's house or in the saloon. You see that the girl is sitting near you, weeping, the red box in her hands.Girl: I saw my uncle yesterday when I visited mommy at the doctor's house. You saved him, right? And my dad? What about him? I am scared... The doctor said that my mom and my uncle will be fine, but I am still afraid. I don't want to stay alone without them, with only my little brother and Mr. Dusty. Oh, I can't tell you about Mr. Dusty... I've already said too much! You need to bring some pots to Henry, but you can talk to the little girl again later.

The next couple of hours feel like an eternity, but you, the girl and Henry baked some cakes and her little brother helped to decorate the Saloon. You have prepared a nice little festivity, considering the circumstances, but everyone had been looking out of the window from time to time, eagerly waiting for news from the rescue team. Night has already fallen, when suddenly you see lights flickering in the distance. They are coming back!The rescue team found and brought back a man in the mine who was almost dead and half-frozen. The doctor immediately covers him in blankets and orders him to be placed next to the fireplace in the warmest room.After many hours, the doctor comes downstairs and calls the children over.Doctor: You can now visit your dad. He woke up.
