Hello, {PLAYER_NAME}, long time no see! What brings you here? What? You found pieces of an old map in the snow but you cannot read them? Ah, I see, you are not even sure how the pieces fit together because you don't recognize the places on the map, and there is a circle on each piece and some strange codes associated with it. Maybe I can help you, I don't know if I ever told you, but my grandfather was first brought here as a cartographer. His job was to make maps of the whole country. I sometimes traveled with him and helped him. He taught me a lot of things during this time, it's sad he is not here anymore. He would have probably solved your mystery quite easily. But I picked up a few things from him and I'm sure I can help. Hand me the pieces and I will have a look. You hand John the pieces and watch him as he frowns while trying to put them together and understand the meaning of the codes.
Finish
I was able to put the pieces together. This map is about a winter treasure. Sadly I could only understand one of the codes. On the upper left corner of the map, the numbers that are written there are the coordinates from the ghost town. Maybe there was something. You should go there and search for clues.

You arrived at the ghost town late at night, but it was so dark and freezing outside that you decided to find a place to sleep. You thought the saloon would be the best place. There you light a fire and fell asleep quite easily, dreaming all night about the strange map and the secrets it might contain. Early in the morning you wake up to see the sun outside, but it's winter and still very cold. You decide to begin searching the saloon for clues. After a long time you find a box hidden in a small space under the stairs, but still no clues. You keep searching for hours and begin to think that you will never find anything anywhere in this town. Before you leave you decide to search one more building, the sheriff's office. Again you don't find anything... You are disappointed and you prepare to leave the building. Suddenly you see something strange on the wall. A map or at least what is left or it. On it you see the same strange code that appears in the upper right corner of your map.
Finish
You move closer and you see that next to the map there is a piece of paper on the wall. Someone tried to decode what was written on the map. This person was successful. Under the code "Jacksonville" is written. You decide to continue your journey there hoping you will find another clue to solve your mystery

You arrive in Jacksonville the same day after a long journey and you decide to think for a moment. It was Sheriff John Fitzburn who helped you discover the first clue and you found the second one in a sheriff's office in the ghost town. Maybe it's a good idea to begin with the sheriff this time. You ask for directions but learn that currently there is no sheriff in this town. There is just a deputy sheriff. You decide to try your luck with him!Deputy sheriff:Hello traveler, what can I do for you ? You seem to have come from a place far away, you look exhausted. What? You found an old map with strange codes written on it and it brought you here? Have I heard of this map ? Can you show it to me? Maybe I will be able to help. You show the map to the deputy, he looks at it and he seems to be confused. Then suddenly he frowns when he sees the code in the lower left corner.Deputy sheriff:This code looks familiar, I have seen it somewhere in a file from the old sheriff who passed away last year. I can't remember where. I'll have to take a look at it, but not today, I have to repair the prison cell, because a Marshal is passing through with a criminal tonight. I need some material for that. What? You can get me the things I need while I search for the code ? Ok fine, but hurry.
Finish
Thank you my friend, you saved me a lot of time. I found the paper I was telling you about. You see, here's the same code that is written on your map. The sheriff wrote "Crystal town" and "Mayor". I think this means you should go there next. Here, take this for your horse! Thank you for helping me.

After another long journey you arrive at Crystal town, wondering where this quest is going to bring you next. You and your horse are exhausted. You go to the town hall to see the mayor but he is not there. His secretary gives you an appointment for the next morning. You decide to rest in the meanwhile. You wake up early in the next morning and you wait for the mayor in his office. After one hour he shows up.Mayor:Hello, Sir. I don't recognize you, are you one of my citizens? No? You come from far away ? I see, please explain your story to me.You explain your journey to the mayor and tell him about the clue that brought you here. He listens quietly to your story and has a look at the map. Once you are done talking you sit there in silence for several minutes, then the mayor gets up from his chair and goes to the window.Mayor:Your story surprised me at first, because I did not know how I could be part of this. But when I saw the code on the lower right corner, I understood. I have seen it before, a long time ago when I was a child. My father showed me this code as he was trying to unlock its secrets. He decoded it, but he died a few weeks later and we all forgot about it. You seem very interested in this clue. Honestly I don't care about it myself, but I know where my father stored his notes and I'll give them to you, but I need something in return. You see, elections are coming soon and I need some money for my re-election campaign. If you help me, I'll give you my father's research.
Finish
Mayor:Thank you for your donation, I appreciate it a lot. Here, I found my father's research and the part where he wrote about this code. The code means "Indian tribe" and he thinks it's the one located South East of the map. There is nothing more, maybe you should go there and talk to their chief.

You arrive at the Indian village. You don't want to loose time and you ask only for the chief. The chief agrees to talk to you and invites you to his Tipi.Indian chief:Hello stranger, you seem exhausted. My men will give you and your horse food and water while we talk. Why are you here ?Again, you begin explaining the whole story to the Indian chief. You tell him all the things you had to do to get the clues and you show him the map that finally brought you to his village. He listens to you with attention and does not seem surprised by anything you tell him. He glares at you like if he was trying to see your soul through your eyes. Then he calls one of his men and talks to him in a strange language. You don't understand anything. The Indian chief sends this man away.Indian chief: I knew this day was going to come. I've been waiting for this for a long time. My grandfather told me a story about a man who will come to us looking for a treasure some day. I have what you seek, and you seem to be an honest man. But I need to ask you to do something for me first. You see, we have some problems with the neighboring tribe because of the limits of our territories. We need someone to go to them and bring them a proposal for sharing the territory in exchange for some guns and horses. Can you go there and settle this deal for us ? If you succeed I will give you the treasure you're looking for.The Indian chief gives you directions to the other Indian village and lends you a horse to go there while your own horse is resting.
Finish
Finally you return to the village with a signed deal from the other chief. The Indian chief looks very happy and offers you to stay with his tribe for the night. He organizes a feast to celebrate the deal. He waves at the same man you saw earlier in his Tipi.Indian chief:Here is the treasure you are looking for. A man in red clothes with a white beard gave it to my grandfather a long time ago. He asked him to keep it until someone comes looking for it after a very long journey. He said it's a magical item because you can see a town inside of it and it's winter all the time. He also said it is a part of several items that gives their owner some great skills when put together.
