Good morning, my dear! It's so cold today, no? I really hate winter, I don't want to go out. How can you like it? Well, there is something you can do for me. Can you send this letter for me? It is for my grandma. She is living in the North. She is very old and I want to know if she has everything for the upcoming winter. Oh, and if you find a good coffee... And one more thing, can you go to Waupee? He promised me a coat for my grandma.
Finish
Oh, thank you very much. The coffee is really good. I like it. Oh, there is a letter for me!

Hey, I am a little busy. Ah, Maya asked you to help me? Ok, so I need some skins to make a coat and boots. Oh, and I know that Maya really hates the winter, so she will probably ask you to deliver the package to her grandma. Ha, do you have a good coat? Yes, I am asking you because her grandma lives in Alaska.
Finish
Here you go. Two jackets and two pairs of warm boots. One is for Maya's grandma and one for you. Can you give the 50$ to Henry?

Wow, thank you for bringing me my money. I appreciate it. Wonderful jacket! This is for Alaska? Oh, then you will definitely need it. Alaska is the Northern most and Western most state in the United States. Due to the oceanic climate there, it gets really cold in the winter, l am talking about -20C. But you can see some amazing mountains there. But as you are here now, can I ask you to bring me some newspapers?
Finish
There you go. Thank you very much. In the newspaper I read a story about a big celebration. Next month, after Christmas, we will have something to celebrate. On the 3rd of January, the Russian Empire sold Alaska for 7,2 million dollars to the US. I almost forgot... I have this letter for Maya. Can you give it to her?

Amazing, the coat is simply gorgeous. My grandma will be very happy. Oooh, and boots too! Is this puma skin? So nice. Oh, I am a bit embarrassed to ask you, but would you like to join me? I have to visit my grandma. She sent me a letter and wrote that I have to go and see her this year. Maybe she is sick? I am a bit nervous. We will need some semi-precious stones. My grandma loves my crafting. I will prepare something for her.
Finish
Tomorrow morning, remember to be ready. I am so happy that you will go with me.

You and Maya are traveling to the North. After several hours, you feel the winter closing in. You decide to use the jacket and the boots from Waupee. Maya looks very hungry. But, what can make for her here? Everywhere is snow. The trees are white, everything is white...Maya: What are the people eating here? Grandma once told me they eat fish, a lot of fish... Just make a hole in the ice and start fishing. And you could also get some wood from the forest. We should make a fire. The night will be very cold.
Finish
You know, you look great in this jacket. And the fish is excellent. Thanks so much, my hero. I don't know what I would do here without you.

After two days, your horse began to limp. This is not good... You have to walk now, and take care of your horse. You are really cold and tired.Maya: I made tea for you. I hope the tea helps a little, makes you feel warm. You need some rest. While you rest, I can tell you something about Alaska. Many different peoples occupied Alaska for thousands of years, before the Europeans arrived there. The Aleutian Islands are still home to the Aleut people's seafaring society, although they were the first Native Alaskans to be exploited by Russians. Western and Southwestern Alaska are home to the Yup'ik, while their cousins the Alutiiq ~ Sugpiaq lived in what is now Southcentral Alaska. You could listen to her for hours. She is like an encyclopedia!
Finish
You look a little better, my dear. When you were asleep I met someone, an old friend of mine. He has been very helpful. He will come back here with his dogs. Why dogs? We'll see.

Maya: So, here it is, my grandma's home. Come on in. I hope grandma is doing well.Grandma: Maya, my little girl! How are you? Oh, I am fine. Why do you think I'm sick? No, my dear, I am doing well, really. I just wanted to see you. You never come to visit me. And hello to you too. Are you Maya's boyfriend? Come on, sit down. I will tell you a story about Alaska. Some historians believe that the first Russian settlement in Alaska was established in the 17th century, but some other people think that a Spanish explorer arrived here first, sometime around 1640. In 1732, Mr. Pawlucki, a man from Russia, visited these lands. Look on the map, here. The Kodiak Island, that is where the first Russian village was. They started to sell the skins in 1784. And 15 years later, on Baranof Island, we had our first big city - Sitka. Now you know why they say the apple does not fall far from the tree.Maya: {PLAYER_NAME}, come with us and have a look at the market. You can trade or buy something, if you want.
Finish
Maya: I hope you like it, because I love this place very much. Why am I not visiting more often? I can tell you, because it is always cold here.Grandma: Not always, my dear, not always.

Maya: Do you need something, grandma?Grandma: Yes, you can get me some crab meat. And I will tell you something else... Do you know what a "Gold Rush" is? We once had one here. In 1896 George Carmack, his brother-in-law Skookum and his nephew Dawson Charlie discovered gold, near the Klondike River. Of course, people from all over the US came here to get rich. They thought that there is a lot of gold here. The truth is, we have a bit, but not much. But we also have oil, and natural gas.

I feel so sorry for my grandma. She is always alone, and now... Do you like it? Good for you.

Alaska has several nicknames, did you know? Sometimes it is called The Last Frontier or The Great Land. This is a big area, and really empty at first glance. And it is the last state that was added to the United States. But here we have the sea, mountains, natural gas, oil and even some gold. And the sled dogs of course, they are the most intelligent and beautiful animals I have ever seen. Let's go and explore it a bit! Come with me and take a good look around, and see how beautiful nature can be. After that, we will go back home.
Finish
Thank you for coming with me. I hope you enjoyed it and learned something new. I so love to spend time with you.
